The role will involve a range of office-based duties within the central services directorate, including liaison with other teams, processing records, assisting with meetings, managing a shared mailbox, day-to-day e-mails, and face-to-face enquiries.

The post holder will be required to communicate effectively with all personnel and be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a high-quality service.

The purpose of the apprenticeship is to offer valuable work-based training and learning opportunities to provide the post holder with an extensive range of life and employment skills.

You will be a keen communicator with an interest in marketing/communications.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support, i.e. filing, photocopying, typing, and data input
  • Input, maintain, and collate information using computer systems and assemble and sustain databases
  • Manage face-to-face, e-mail, and telephone enquiries; convey messages and transfer calls as necessary, while maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Be responsible for receiving and processing mail and outgoing telephone calls for the business andcomms function
  • Communicate effectively and liaise with other professionals in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Liaise with other teams to assist in providing a high quality and efficient service sharing information as appropriate
  • Assist as requested in arranging and preparation of meetings, including distribution of associated documents
  • Assist in processing, ordering, and distribution of stock as required
  • Act as an ambassador for the business, helping promote our services and teams
  • Undertake statutory training as required
  • Achieve apprentice framework (Functional Skills, NVQ, and Technical Certificate) within the specified timeframe and undertake any necessary written work at home during the length of the course
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with patients, carers, and members of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Computer literature, including report writing and treatment planning
  • Understanding and ability to work as a member of the wider team, supporting the delivery of excellent services

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English and maths
  • All applicants will be required to take initial assessments in English and maths


Future prospects

May lead to permanent employment for the right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The post-holder will be required to comply with the organisation's policies, procedures and instructions, at all times dealing honestly with the organisations and its leadership, with colleagues and all those who have dealings with the organisation, including patients, relatives and suppliers.

All staff may be involved directly or indirectly with people who are receiving a health service. Therefore, the organisation is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and this post may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service submission.

Must be able to get to and from the place of work in a safe and timely manner. Driving licence preferable but not essential.
