Description of Vacancy
An opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy Local Authority Housing department within the Housing Solutions & Private Sector Team, offering support when allocating Council housing and some support within the homelessness part of the team as well.

An opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy Local Authority Housing department. The successful applicant will be a key and invaluable support to the Housing Management Team which is one of the busiest sections of the whole council.

Duties will include:

Scanning and processing incoming post. 
Answering enquiries both face to face and over the telephone from internal and external customers
Providing administration for applications for Council and Housing Association housing including the advertising 
Assisting with outgoing correspondence by printing off letters, batching up and taking to the Post Room 
Anything else to do with allocations

Wage
£3.90 per hour as from 1 April 2019
£144.30 per week as from 1 April 2019

Hours
37.5 hours per week
8.45am – 5.15pm Mon to Thursday
8.45am – 4.45pm on Friday’s

Skills Required
Adequate computer knowledge, 
A good head for figures 
Ability to prioritise workload. 
Good written and verbal communication skills 
Good telephone manner

Personal Qualities
Confident in communication

Qualifications Required
3 GCSE’s Grade C (4) and above that should include Maths and English or equivalent

Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
