St Mungo's is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for people who have lived experience of homelessness, mental health, offender, alcohol and substance use and recovery services.

We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Project Worker to work at our Hither Green Service. The purpose of the role is to learn how to provide housing related support to vulnerable homeless adults with complex needs; in order to maximise individual potential. We are looking for a motivational, positive and inspiring role model who will inspire clients.

The Hither Green Service is integral to the Lewisham Pathway. Over the next 12 months our task is to transform it into a flagship project both locally and organisationally. Our aim is to create a psychologically informed, high quality service led by the people who live with us. The service is commissioned to provide intensive support to people who have experienced/are experiencing a range of issues. These include: complex trauma, problematic alcohol use, problematic drug use, mental ill-health and physical ill-health. The role of the service is to support those who live within it to move forwards with their lives. The site was purpose-built in 2009 around a landscaped garden.

The service consists of two buildings:

Spring Gardens (40 beds for clients with complex needs) (24 hour support)

Garden House (25 step down accommodation although the clients still require significant support) (24 hour support)

St Mungo's Apprenticeship Scheme offers 15 months paid work, a comprehensive training programme and the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification.

There will be on the job learning and shadowing staff to observe how they support our clients to achieve their goals. You will be required to attend formal learning whilst working towards the qualification.

Closing date: 10.00am, Wednesday 24 April

Interview and assessments on: tbc

It is a requirement for this post that an enhanced DBS disclosure check will be undertaken for the successful candidate.

Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo's current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
