The individual will report to the Team Leader of the Business Intelligence Team, who will provide the majority of training, support and mentoring required.

However due to the starting position of the role, the expectations are of the individual to support the wider team in meeting the overall objectives of the team.

The individual will have input in and part responsibility for production of automated reporting, investigation into KPI's and supporting the Team Leader in fact finding and driving key business decisions.

There is also a creative and strategic aspect to the role where there is an expectation to identify issues/cost savings and areas where there is potential to increase revenue from the large client baseand its Portfolio.

This could be from the perspective of reviewing MI, undertaking deep dive analysis to involvement and influence on billing processes for the team and the wider department.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Ability to work accurately and to a high standard
  • Responding to data requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Motivated to self-improve and ability to learn quickly and adapt to the business environment and its changing needs
  • Ability to gather requirements and deal with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Report building using Analytical tools available (BI Stack, PowerBI, Cognos)
  • Preparation of presentations (mainly in MS PowerPoint)
  • Ad hoc Management Information
  • Recurring KPI and report production
  • Drive decisions from KPI reviews
  • Understand finance reporting and billing, take responsibility and drive actions with coordination from Team Leader
  • Presentation of data then analysing the business model for gaps, exceptions and suggesting new ways of working to senior stake holders


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Administration skills; filing, documenting, self-audit, prioritise own work, keep team leader up to date on outstanding tasks
  • Computer literate and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Advance Excel skills - formulation, macros, VBA advantageous
  • Advanced Access skills - Query writing, form building, VBA code review advantageous
  • SQL Query writing skills
  • Any experience in SSIS/SSAS and VBA at an advantage
  • Excellent Analytical skills

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
