The Shoe Room is a looking for an enthusiastic and friendly apprentice to join its team and progress with the company.
Your role will go beyond the duties of the shop-floor and will also include boosting the shop’s social media profile, and learning how a small business operates.
You will also play a key role in organising brand launch events and benefit from a fantastic incentive scheme including staff uniform allowance and discounts.

We are looking for an apprentice who is eager to learn all aspects of working within a small independent shoe shop is run.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Serving customers from all backgrounds to build loyalty; giving advice on styles and products
Learning about the types of footwear within the store including the technology behind the shoe designs
Boosting the organisation’s social media profile
Helping to organise in-house launch events for the public
Processing deliveries as they arrive
Promoting our brands and researching new ones
General Housekeeping duties including cleaning and painting.
Assisting with displays
£111 hours per week (£3.70 per hour)
30 working hours per week spread across the store’s opening times (9-5 Monday to Saturday)
Includes 5 weeks paid holiday per annum.
Previous customer service experience would be great but not essential for this role.
Flexible, enthusiastic with and interested in shoes.
Minimum grade A-D GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
