Westgate Surgery is a GP practice serving the population of Westgate.
We have 5 doctors and 6 nurses and provide a range of medical services.
Description of Vacancy
This is a reception role booking patient appointments and giving messages to patients
There is an opportunity to undertake some additional administrative roles in the management of patients medical records
The role includes scanning, handling of post, photocopying, attaching to medical records and sending of electronic medical records to others
Duties will include:
Answering the phone
Making appointments and advising patients on available services
Passing messages in a timely manner.
Use electronic clinical system.
Scanning of documents
Attaching documents to patients medical records
Support patients accessing health care
Support Management and staff
General administration and office support
Transport: Westgate railway station is a 2 min walk
£4.40 per hour
(£140.80 per week)
Monday to Friday working regular shift patterns to cover
8am – 6.30pm
1 hour lunch break (unpaid)

Well spoken and presentable.
Good attention to detail.
Minimum achieved Grade D or equivalent in English and Maths.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
