The role's training and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
  • Maintain and develop personal performance
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with others and leading projects / supervision of others
  • Dairy management
  • Relief milking
  • Establish and maintain conditions appropriate to the welfare of our Friesian Cows and other animals on the farm
  • Lead with and Maintain site bio-security and personal hygiene
  • Monitor and maintain the supply of feed and water to our livestock
  • Monitor and maintain livestock on outdoor sites
  • Maintain the healthy growth of crops under supervision
  • To assist with the tidiness and appearance of the entire farm
  • To assist the maintenance of the farm and estate gaining a wide range of experience and knowledge from the operations
  • To assist with tractor work as required


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good Communicator
  • Driving Licence essential
  • Tractor driving experience essential
  • Livestock handling experience preferable
  • Ability to manage a substantial workload and prioritise effectively
  • Previous Lv.2 or 3 Agriculture qualification


Personal qualities

  • Flexible and positive approach to work
  • Self-motivated
  • Keen to progress and develop


Desired qualifications

  • Applicants must have GCSE maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills equivalent
  • Learners will already have an Lv.2 or Lv.3 qualification in Agriculture or similar subject before taking this qualification


Future prospects

  • May lead to permanent employment for the right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship
  • Progression onto further higher education within Agriculture
  • Successful candidates could progress onto a degree in Agricultural Management or similar qualification

  • Must be able to get to and from the place of work in a safe and timely manner
  • Accommodation is available on site - this is £25per/week and includes all relevant utility bills
