Activities key to the role of Accounts Assistant Apprentice are:
  • Production of weekly invoice run ensuring client is invoiced correctly
  • Completing Application for Payment
  • Resolving client invoice queries through root cause analysis
  • Cash allocation and account reconciliation
  • Commercial and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Production of quotations from rate card
  • Admin and general back office support, including time sheet checks

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Experienced in plant hire and/or construction gained from working within these sectors (not essential as training will be provided)
  • Proficient in the use of Excel ideally, formulas, V-Look ups and Pivot Tables (training will be provided)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • IT skills
  • Time management and the ability to work to deadlines

Desired qualifications

The successful candidate must have achieved GCSE at Grade C or above in both maths and English (or equivalent).AAT at Level 3, or working towards, would also be a distinct advantage.

Things to consider

Although a minimum of 2-3 years working within an Accounts environment will be a distinct advantage, candidates who are highly motivated and are able to demonstrate a genuine willingness to learn (whilst also meeting the minimum criteria) are encouraged to apply for the role in this growing company.
