During your apprenticeship you will work on various projects with differing requirements. You will be taught the skills you need to become an independent Control Systems Engineer through involvement in the following activities:
• PLC Programming, using graphical programming languages such as ladder logic and function block diagram
• Graphical user interface design using industry SCADA packages
• Designing electrical control panel layouts
• Production of electrical schematics using CAD packages
• Writing engineering documentation
• Testing PLC/SCADA/electrical control panels
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Good communication skills are essential with a positive attitude to learning and working within a team.
Personal qualities
We are looking for bright adults with a keen interest in electrical engineering and technology.
Desired qualifications
Either A-Levels in a maths or Science subject, or Level 3 BTEC Engineering, or completion of a Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship.
Future prospects
