All Stitched Up is a popular sewing and haberdashery shop in the heart of Faversham.

We have a fabulous range of products including yarns, fabrics, buttons, ribbons, embroidery silks, gifts and so much more.

We also have a great selection of workshops and classes on offer. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter you’re guaranteed a fun time.


Description of Vacancy 
This lively and friendly sewing shop in the heart of Faversham has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to come and support with various administrative elements of the business.

You will be working very closely with your mentor, the business owner, who set up the shop on the back of a lifelong dream and is now looking for somebody to come in and assist her with its growth.

You will cover a range of administrative areas, with a particular focus on social media and finance related tasks. There is plenty of room to be creative and make the role your own.

An interest in sewing is not essential, but this role may be particularly suited to those with a passion for art.

This is a very varied role in which you have a real scope to be creative and make it your own. Your tasks will include – but are not limited to – the following:

– Managing the shop’s social media accounts with a view to generating new business

– Assisting with various finance related tasks including book-keeping and banking.

– Keeping Sales-related spreadsheets up to date

– Scheduling workshops and lessons

-Typing up workshop notes and instruction packs

– Issuing and editing monthly newsletters

– Stock-taking and stock-ordering

– Coordinating volunteer rotas

– Dealing with incoming and outgoing post

– Helping to set-up online shop


Hours
30 working hours per week, approximately identified as below but there is room for flexibility for the right candidate, and preferences can be discussed at interview.

Tuesday: 09:30 – 16:30
Wednesday: 09:30 – 16:30
Thursday: 09:30 – 16:30
Friday: 09:00 – 17:00
Saturday: 09:30 – 12:30

Shifts will include an half hour (unpaid) lunch-break.


Wage
£117 per week


Skills Required 
The successful candidate should have good ICT skills and good communication skills, both in writing and face-to-face. The successful candidate should also be able to maintain a varied workload.


Personal Qualities
Whilst an interest in sewing is not a necessity, this role would be particularly suited to somebody with an interest in creativity and the arts.

We are looking for somebody who is a good team player and able to use their initiative.


Qualifications Required
The successful candidate should hold a minimum grade C / 4 in English and Maths GCSE, or equivalent.


Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
