Kingston Smith is one of the UK's top 20 audit and chartered accountancy firms with 520 people based in London and the South East. We support entrepreneurs and their businesses, private individuals and not-for-profit organisations across a number of sectors.

As an apprentice chartered accountant at Kingston Smith you will train as a general practitioner rather than a specialist and therefore receive a wide range of experience across audit, accountancy and taxation. Kingston Smith's wide range of clients means that you will benefit from working with an interesting mix of industries and businesses. We encourage early responsibility and ensure that as you progress you are given the opportunity to work on all aspects of an assignment.

Duties may include:
  • VAT returns
  • Reconciliations
  • Communicating with clients by telephone, email and letter
  • Processing clients' accounting information

You will receive first class training within a supportive environment helping you to succeed in both your work experience and ACA exams. Our ACA pass rates are exceptional and are consistently well above the ICAEW's average, highlighting our success at training and supporting graduates through the ACA qualification. Our trainees all study together in the same class at college so you will have the opportunity to build up strong relationships and can help support each other through studying and exams.

We are big enough to be able to offer a wide variety of experience but we're still the kind of place where personality is valued and individual achievement gets recognised. Our personal approach means you will get to know all of our Partners, who will be accessible to you and will be genuinely committed to your training and development.

There is always plenty going on in our friendly offices, with a wide variety of social activities. We have a firm wide social committee with representatives from every level within the firm, who are always looking for suggestions and volunteers to help organise events.
