Eden Food and Drink Engineer Apprenticeship, Leicestershire

Home to some of the UK's leading dairy brands, including Cravendale, Anchor, Lurpak and Castello, Arla Foods is the UK's number one dairy company. Also supplying a full range of fresh dairy products to the major retailers and food service customers. Behind this leading global business, is a UK team of 4000 colleagues located across our dairies, distribution centres and head offices.

Having people with the right skills is key to the success of our business and to ensure this we are, once again, looking to recruit Apprentices for the award-winning EDEN scheme. This training programme now being delivered as Food and Drink Maintenance Engineer (FDEM) apprenticeship was started in 2009 as a ground-breaking initiative by the dairy industry aimed at developing highly competent engineering and maintenance technicians for our dairies.

You will need to take the lead in driving your own development and show energy, drive and passion as you work towards your Level 3 Diploma in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance (City and Guilds), apprenticeship certificate and a career with Arla Foods. Applications are now open for the September 2019 intake of our Engineering programme with 15 vacancies across our UK sites including Lockerbie (Dumfries and Galloway), Taw Valley (North Devon), Trevarrian (Cornwall), Westbury (Wiltshire), Melton Mowbray (Leicestershire), Settle (North Yorkshire), Oakthorpe (North London), Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire) and Stourton (Leeds).

On this 4 year structured programme you will spend residential periods each year gaining technical know-how at a purpose-built, multi-million training dairy at Reaseheath College in Cheshire, the specialist training academy for our industry. When you're not at college, you'll be based at an Arla site putting your learning into practice.

You will need to impress us with your desire to learn and your ability to take the lead and make your career ambitions for the future a reality. You will also need 3 GCSE's, Level 6 (Grade B) in Maths, Level 5 (Grade C) in Science and Level 5 (Grade C) in English plus 1 A Level or the equivalent and an interest in the dairy industry. Candidates must be prepared to live away from home during phases of study at college.

This is an excellent opportunity to earn, whilst you learn the ropes of one of the fastest-paced industry's there is. But make no mistake, this is no easy option and our limited places will be filled by people who are ready to take a pro-active approach towards their own growth and personal and professional development. If that's you and you're ready to apply please follow the link.
