Are you interested in a career in the retail motor industry? Able to show that you can work well as part of a team and listen carefully and respond to colleagues? Willing to provide excellent service to our customers?
We are a family owned company established since 1899 and have locations in Guildford, Maidstone, Canterbury & Shoreham representing Vauxhall, Nissan, Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Fiat Professional, Subaru, MG, SEAT, SsangYong and DAF Brands. As part of our continued growth plans, we are looking to recruit a high calibre individual to join our Guildford branch, as an Apprentice Technician.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and well-presented person with good time keeping skills, who enjoys working as part of a team, as well as having a keen interest in motor vehicles. This role is ideal for someone who is both professional and a good communicator.
We recognise the importance in identifying talented people to become the next generation of professional retailer employees and help us achieve our ambitious growth plans. We are looking for people who share our passion to join our highly successful Apprenticeship programme.
Our apprenticeship is geared toward training the next generation of fully-fledged Service Technicians. But what does a Service Technician actually do?
Service Technicians service and repair light vehicles such as cars up to 3.5 tonnes. Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The duties of a Service Technician may include:
* Servicing vehicles - carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers' guidelines
* Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
* Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
* Producing time estimates
* Maintaining repair and service records
Please note, the Service Technician role varies slightly by brand based upon the specific needs within the location.
TRAINING PROVIDED
As well as employment, you will be given the training and support you need to develop both personally and professionally. Using a combination of classroom based training, e-learning, practical training and application of learning; you will be guided by your trainers and personal mentor along to the road to success. This apprenticeship combines off-the-job training with on-the-job learning and you will be supported every step of the way.
On successful completion of the three year programme you will receive:
England: Apprentice standard
* Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)
