The role will be to assist the Director and Associate Director in the team in undertaking all aspects of occupational agency and liaising with clients. The successful candidate will gain a full understanding of the office agency sector, building up a working knowledge of the South West property market and work with other professionals in the region. Day to day work will include, instruction and file set up procedures, property inspections, due diligence, lease reading, market research using various data bases including rental and investment analysis, preparing marketing particulars, report writing and use of various valuation methods.

The disposal / acquisition and provision of consultancy advice of office buildings and business parks including working with funds/investors, developers and occupiers. The key activities for this role are:
  • Taking a proactive approach in identifying business development opportunities both individually and as part of the team
  • Undertake inspections of properties
  • Preparation of marketing reports and strategies
  • Carrying out market research to enable accurate development advice
  • Undertake development appraisals
  • Identifying possible additional instructions / fee earning opportunities
  • Analysing key data and extracting salient information
  • To carry out property searches and provide comprehensive advice directly to clients
  • Preparing in advance for client meetings, recording minutes and carrying out any actions arising
  • To report directly to clients and senior colleagues
  • To build strong relationships with other Savills divisions and offices and be able to cross selling
  • Development of relationships with clients and other property professionals
  • Developing and maintaining active communication both within the team and outside of the team
  • Asking questions, interacting and discussing the objectives and day to day work of the team
  • Providing assistance to team members as and when required

Desired qualifications

For standard entry applicants, must have obtained 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or have an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications not included in the UCAS Tariff


Have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical through which a Construction and Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained, or an equivalent qualification


Have a current RICS Associate qualification (AssocRICS)


Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.

*Recognised qualifications having an equivalent level of attainment as those recognised by UCAS include: Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), professional qualifications from recognised institutions, certain armed forces qualifications and partially completed degrees.

Future prospects

Gain Chartered Surveyor Status.
