What you will do in your working day
The first year will be college based at GET in Gloucester. During the first year will incolve a number of tests, project work and exams to validate the knowlege learned.
Years 2 to 4 will involve working 4 days at the plant with the Maintenance team, and 1 day at college.
The training you will be getting
Training will be on the job working alongside the Maintenence teams. Project work will also be involved. You will learn mechanical and electrical skills in our Foundry, Finishing shop:
•Install, maintain, test and repair machinery, equipment and associated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic electrical and electronic systems.
• Preventing breakdowns
•How to set-up and maintain plant, machinery and equipment at optimum operating conditions.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
At the end we expect you to achieve an HNC level qualification.
At the end of the apprenticeship we expect their will be job openings available and you will join our Maintenance team on shift.
