Duties will include:
  • Sample preparations using laboratory equipment such as Microscope, and camera and report write-up
  • Writing up and formatting customer data cards and product records which include Identification of prime contractor specifications/selection of furnaces/determining batch size/determining heat treatment parameters/determining quench criteria/determination of inspection/effective operation of DNA computer programme
  • Use of software to reset data logger/Calibration of Logger/Manufacture and control of test thermocouples/TUS load setup/TUS reporting
  • Polymer/water solution concentration procedure/AAV procedure/CO² monitor

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs graded A-C/9-4 including English Language and maths or equivalent
  • As well as a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering OR Physics and mathematics A-Levels


Future prospects

  • The successful applicants will possess good results in science based subjects and will study for an Extended Diploma in Manufacturing following which a degree level course can be pursued
  • Excellent career opportunities, further studies dependant on the needs of the business
