The successful candidate will work across all areas of the business, gaining a range of skills and knowledge as an Installation Technician.

Desired qualifications
A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above, including English and Science, grade B/5 or above in maths at GCSE. Candidates will have a minimum of two A Levels (ideally one being in maths or Physics but not essential) OR a relevant Level 3 qualification.
Future prospects
There is the possibility of a permanent position on completion of the apprenticeship for the right candidate, in addition to possible progression on to a Level 5 Higher apprenticeship.
Things to consider
This role will involve considerable travel as it is covering the national rail network and will involve mainly working weekends. Possible opportunities to travel to offices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

- Installation of new signalling systems
- Carrying out routine maintenance checks
- Measuring and recording equipment test readings
- Upgrading radio and electronic communications networks
- Finding and fixing equipment faults on site
- Repairing more complex faults off site
Requirements and prospects

- Thorough with good attention to detail
- IT literate
- A full UK driving license would be beneficial in order to allow the candidate to travel between sites

- Patient, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- The ability to organise your own work and always be on time
- Good communication skills
- Able to work well with others
- Lots of enthusiasm for this learning and development opportunity
