We develop in several programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, Kotlin. We use many different approaches: Semantic technology, ontologies, machine learning, ElasticSearch, knowledge graphs, visualisation of data.

We are looking for the software developers or data scientists of tomorrow to join us on a project using one or more of the above languages and technologies to research and develop innovative solutions for the life science and healthcare industry.

You will be supported by a team of experts and a culture of collaboration and innovation. We will tailor a project to fit your strengths and interests while helping educate you on what we do and how. Knowledge of pharmaceutical domain or semantic technology is not a requirement, however a willingness to learn about the approaches and technology in this area is essential.

Example projects:
  • Machine learning applied to pattern recognition of biological relationships in text, such as identifying adverse event detections, drug-drug interactions
  • Visualisation of data using ontologies and/or graphs
  • Question and answering systems using knowledge graphs
  • NLP approaches for interpreting natural language questions into structured queries


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • At least 4 GCSEs at Grade B, must include Maths and English
  • A- Level grade B in at least one STEM subject, maths preferred
  • 112 UCAS points (BBC at A- Level)
  • If English is not your first language, then you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5
