Key Responsibilities of the Apprentice:

Once your training is well under way, you will work with and support our clients and their businesses to ensure that their mission critical systems meet with their expectations, and continue to operate 24 x 7.

We will help and train you in the following key skills:
  • Define, design and document complex computer configurations
  • Work with our clients to analyse and solve technical issues
  • Provide solutions to improve computer performance and transaction throughput
  • Work and liaise with our other technical support departments
  • Work on site supporting our key clients to the high level they have come to expect from Unisys
  • High attention to detail
  • Proven ability to learn quickly

Base location will be in Milton Keynes, however from time to time you will need to travel for specific training and to visit client sites.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Computer literate with some experience of using analytical tools including Excel
  • Self motivated

  • Proven computer literacy


Personal qualities

This would be a great opportunity for someone who has completed their A-levels or equivalent, and would like to continue studying alongside getting direct experience in the working world. Alternatively for someone looking for a career change or someone looking to return to the workplace following a break.

Should also have a demonstrable interest in Information Systems or Computer Science.

Desired qualifications

  • Two or more A Levels including maths or a science equivalent, or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Or an apprenticeship in a similar occupation at level 3
