What you will do in your working day

Software testers are employed to find bugs and issues within a product before it is deployed to users. You will need to become familiar with programming and different coding languages. Assessing code can be one part of the role of an experienced software tester. The Software Tester will test simple, high-quality code across front end, logic and database layers. A tester will typically be working as part of a larger team; in which they will have responsibility for different elements of a project.

BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

At the end of the apprenticeship, once you have qualified, you would have developed the specialist capabilities/skills to enable you to become an expert in your chosen area. Therefore you either have the option to top-up to the next level apprenticeship so you can continue to develop academically whilst in role, or progress upwards through the business in your specialist field.
