Working as a software developer you will undertake development on a new generation of learning software, harnessing the power of digital games to positively impact how people engage, learn and behave. This is a unique opportunity to be part of early stage development of applications that will change the way people look at games and what they can achieve. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the role will include:

Level 3 qualifaction or 2 A Levels in a relevant subject area

- Development and maintenance of products and content
- Contributing to design activities
- Undertaking a wide variety of test and support activities
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation
- Developing and maintaining internal IT systems
- Liaising with a variety of specialists from digital artists to psychologists
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- 1+ years software development experience using a recognised high level programming or scripting language such as Java, C#,C++, PHP, Javascript, Python, PERL, etc.
- Evidence of having successfully learnt a second programming/scripting language
- Ability to evidence a portfolio of software developed either by self or within a group
- Appreciation of testing/quality assurance
- Interest in games development (i.e. activity beyond playing games)
- Evidence of working effectively in a team
- Experience of HTML5
- Some experience of working with databases andSQL
- Some experience of testing/quality assurance
- Exposure to Agile development practices
- Exposure to working with a games development engine - Unity, Unreal, etc.
- Basic understanding of the games development pipeline and the role of art/modelling in the process
- Some exposure to UI/UX design techniques
