An Apprenticeship in toolmaking will enable you to work towards becoming a highly skilled Engineer. You will gain experience in modifying and repairing tools. Your training on specialist pieces of machinery (Mould tool injection, extrusion tooling, polyurethane tooling and rotational mould tooling) will increase your understanding and provide you with first-hand experience of the key part a tool plays to ensuring consistent high quality and high speed manufacture of safety equipment.

Some key tasks you will compete during your Apprenticeship:
  • Complete tool servicing and repairing and troubleshooting activities for different types of complex injection mould tools
  • Manufacture tooling parts using the full range of Toolroom equipment
  • Provide support in the manufacture of new tooling
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies
  • Monitor the condition and maintain the Toolroom equipment to appropriate standards

Things to consider
