As a Sales & Marketing Apprentice you will be responsible for working as part of the Industrial team providing a key administrative support function that will assist with the performance and growth of the business. Your role will include specific functional responsibilities, as well as supporting the team with sales and marketing activities.

Key Accountabilities
  • This role is the focal point for all Sales Administration so will involve supporting all telephone, e-mail and letter enquires received from Industrial colleagues in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that a good level of service is given to clients.
  • A key focus will be undertaking market research to identify sales leads for the business development team.
  • The role will also involve tender portal management (registration, monitoring and updating).
  • General administration support to Sales team.
  • Allocation of incoming client questions to Industrial colleagues, ensuring that queries are responded to quickly and customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Administration of social media accounts and organising of events.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Company's current policies and procedures.
  • As the role develops, assist with the correct completion of tender paperwork.
  • Assist with routine and non-routine administrative tasks as required in support of the Industrial Business Development Manager.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Previous administrative experience, gained in a busy office environment.
  • Previous experience working in a customer focused environment, to tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience of handling telephone queries, responding and redirecting where necessary, in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Experience of working in a secure and confidential environment.
  • Ability to extract data and manipulate/analyse information, particularly in excel using pivot tables and conditional formatting, etc.

Personal qualities

  • Must be extremely organised.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail while working to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work flexibly, learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to deal with colleagues at various levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to see things from the customers point of view and ensure they receive a professional, friendly, quick and accurate service at all times.
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to customer service.

Desired qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (Level 3).
  • A full valid driving licence to drive in the UK.
  • Educated to GCSE level A*- C (9 - 4) or equivalent, including English and Maths.

If the hired candidate is successful in their apprenticeship we will look to make the candidate permanent, developing their role to meet personal and business development
