The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain features for Glas Data's web portal, using React.js
  • Develop and maintain features for Glas Data's APIs, using ASP.NET Core 2.1, Python 3.6 and AWS
  • Develop and maintain features for Glas Data's mobile app using Xamarin.Forms
  • Thoroughly test all features using mocha, Xunit, NUnit
  • Version code using Git
  • Operate in an agile (KANBAN) development
  • Use task management software e.g. Trello
  • Perform daily stand-ups and code reviews

As an apprentice software engineer you will be working within the core development team, reporting to the tech lead (Rob Sanders). You will have an opportunity to work on all aspects of the product from the web dashboard to the API and the database, hosted in AWS.

You will be expected to test all code prior to it being accepted and keep to the high quality standards that Glas Data maintains.

As a member of a small team you will have an opportunity to have a say on architectural aspects prior to their implementation and have a role in shaping the future of the software.

Things to consider

As an employee you will have a workplace pension and have salary and performance reviews. You will have 22 days holiday not including bank holidays (30 days including) And attend Glas Data days out! Employees may be asked to work extra hours in exceptional circumstances however time worked can be added to holiday allowance.
