You will be working alongside experienced IT Programme and Project Managers to define, document and carry out a wide variety of projects or sub-projects for the MECD programme. As part of the apprenticeship, you will gain experience of working across all phases of the project lifecycle.

QA's apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.

Main responsibilities:
- Defines, documents and safely executes small-scale projects, or sub-projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project
- Prepares and maintains realistic project schedules and quality plans and tracks all activities against them, providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate
- Reports progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and deployment activities, key operational metrics and return to productivity measures
- Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances
- Assists the user community in provision of transition support and change planning, and liaises with the project team
- Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes
Requirements and prospects

- A passion for Project Management, preferably within an IT environmentand a desire to work in a customer-facing role
- The ability to establish good working relationships by being an effective and sensitive communicator with stakeholders from a broad range of backgrounds
- An understanding of the importance of maintaining a customer focus by regularly checking in with the customer when taking actions or making decisions
- A high attention to detail
- The ability to represent IT Services in a professional and courteous manner
- The ability to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly
- Excellent written skills, e.g. reports, emails, etc.
Personal qualities
Someone with an enthusiastic and professional attitude and a commitment to learning new skills.
Desired qualifications
- Any A-Level or a Level 3 in a similar subject
- Or holds an existing project management qualification
