What you will do in your working day

You will provide high quality impartial information, advice and support via both a responsive and efficient helpline service and face to face contact with families who require more in depth support. The main duties and responsibilities will also include developing and running specific outreach sessions, drop-ins, workshops and events to offer accessible information, advice and support to children / young people with SEND and researching and developing new ways of effectively reaching this group.

The training you will be getting

In addition to the off the job training you will recieve from Learning and Skills, you will recieve quality on the job training and will be allocated a mentor to support you through your apprenticeship.

You will also obtain a Certificate of Higher Education in working with Children, Young People and Families.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to undertake a higher level apprenticeship qualification and the potential to secure a position within the Council for the right candidate to grow within the organisation.

Things to consider

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject. Appointment will be subject to the following pre-employment checks: • Enhanced DBS check, • Medical Check • Satisfactory reference.
