What you will do in your working day

You will support the SEN Team in relation to EHC assessment and plans enabling children with SEN to access additional funding and support, which will in turn enable them to achieve a positive and sustainable change in their lives. You will actively work with parents/carers, children, young people and families to explain and guide them through the EHC process, preparing paperwork for multi-agency panels and maintaining accurate and timely records on various IT systems.

The training you will be getting

In addition to the off the job training you will recieve from Learning and Skills, you will also recieve quality on the job training and a mentor to support you through your apprenticeship.

You will also achieve a Certificate in Higher Education in Working with Children, Young People & Families.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to undertake a higher level apprenticeship qualification and the potential to secure a position within the Council for the right candidate to grow within the organisation.

Things to consider

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject. Appointment will be subject to the following pre-employment checks: • Enhanced DBS check, • Medical Check • Satisfactory reference.
