Duties to include:
  • Work closely with the Development and Support Team Leads teams to code and unit test software that meets business requirements and technical design
  • Commit to and maintain timeliness of delivery of work packages within the overall project management framework
  • To produce clear documentation of technical implementation, with explanation of all key design decisions
  • Develop applications adhering to architectural standards and designs using best practise methodologies
  • Adherence to existing development standards, all regulatory and audit requirements, team processes and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as requested

Desired skills

  • Are able to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically
  • Can demonstrate an interest in programming.
  • Have got some prior coding experience in any programming language


Personal qualities

  • Interest in learning new technology, tools, and processes
  • Ability to embrace change and uncertainty
  • Are enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to achieve.
  • You will need to balance time in the office whilst studying.
  • Are outstanding at problem-solving


Desired qualifications

  • Five GCSEor equivalent grades C - A* (or 4-9), including maths and English
  • Good knowledge of IT packages e.g Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets etc.
  • Level 3 qualification (BTEC, NVQ or equivalent)


Future prospects

After your Software Engineering apprenticeship, you can progress into a developer role (this includes web and app development). You'll have the skills to continue growing within a tech teamand have enough knowledge/experience to pick up new languages with ease. Software Engineering Level 4 will also provide a good foundation for transitioning into data science.
