Duties will include:
  • Test Geneo software products and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Help prepare and maintain test plans
  • Report test coverage and provide feedback to developers and project teams
  • Install and configure Windows operating systems, associated hardware and applications
  • Provide on-site IT support for staff, ensuring priority requests are resolved quickly

You will have the opportunity to learn any missing skills and enhance any existing skills whilst doing the work.

Desired skills

As a Software Tester at GENEO, your responsibilities will entail the use of the following tools and technologies in an Agile Development environment and any experience with these will be helpful:

(Important) Front-end testing applications
  • Katalon Studio (Groovy/Selenium) or equivalent automation tools
  • Google Chrome

(Important) Web Development common languages
  • HTML
  • CSS

(Useful) Web Development supporting languages
  • JavaScript
  • PHP
  • Bash
  • SQL

(Useful) PHP Model-View-Controller Framework
  • Knowledge of CakePHP or any other PHP MVC framework like Symfony, Laravel, Zend, CodeIgniter.

(Useful) Continuous Delivery software
  • Jenkins
  • Amazon Web Services

Personal qualities

  • Team player
  • Ability to learn and adapt very quickly
  • Basic knowledge on coding
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Strong assessment skills
  • A passion for providing excellent customer services at all times
  • Strong communication skills with people at varying levels

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)

You will have the time and flexibility to develop your knowledge on the technologies currently used by the software and business teams as well as research new technologies that might pave the way for future developments.
