The post is for 24 months, £12,000 per annum for 12 months, rising to Rochdale real living wage, £16,881.30 for the contract remainder.
Interview date 7th March 2019 (there is no flexibility with this date. If you are not available on this date then please do not apply).

How we will support you:
Full training and support will be provided by Rochdale Training Association to help you attain your Apprenticeship and progress. Our Tutors will visit you at your place of work to fully support you.
What happens next:
New applicants to Rochdale Training who meet entry requirements of the role will be contacted and invited to meet our Recruitment Officer.
- To assist the Parks and Open Spaces Development Manager in developing and delivering large scale park improvement projects at Denehurst Park and Falinge Park
To assist in developing and delivering a range of smaller park and general service improvement projects, including the following areas:
- Data gathering for, and writing park management plans
- Individual projects within a park
- Allotments
- Supporting Friends groups in writing funding bids to grant bodies
- Bowlee Plant Nursery
- To attend Friends / Community group internal and public meetings relevant to the post, including giving talks on a range of matters
- To develop links to additional organisations / people: third sector, businesses, residents etc, to help delivery of park and general service projects
Secondary duties:
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time-to-time by the Service Head (or nominated representative), in consultation with the post holder (and if he/she so wishes, with his/her trade union representative)
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences
- Working as part of a team
- Working under your own initiative
Personal qualities
- Prioritising workload / working to time-scales
- A high level of written word ability to enable the writing of grant or similar application forms (can't have desirable criteria)
- Experience of using computers to be able to produce letters and other documents to a high standard plus use of e-mail and spreadsheets
Desired qualifications
- Evidence of x 2 A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
- GCSE maths and English at minimum Grade C or equivalents
Future prospects
- Full support to move into more senior positions once trained for the right candidate

- There will be some evening and possibly weekend work around the needs of community groups.
