Job Description:

There are four divisions within Viapath IT & Transformation which are Infrastructure/ServiceDesk, Solution Design, Application Management Support (AMS) and Enterprise Project Portfolio.

The post holder will only be working within the AMS team located at KCH and Francis House for the duration of the program. And support various pathology disciplines and communicate with LIMS & third party suppliers, Trust's ICT departments, and external clients.

The AMS team maintains the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) such as Clinisys WinPath (version 5.32 & 7.13), Cerner Classic & Millennium, and application that connects to Trust's EPR system for electronic orders and results. The LIMS system is connected to series of analytical platforms, instrument managers and interfaces.

In addition, AMS team also supports the electronic requesting and reporting from GP Practice via EMIS tQuest and returns results using the EMIS Keystone system.

This role will work as part of a team under the direction of Head of AMS, it is anticipated the time will be split equally amongst the two teams for the period of apprenticeship.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Assist in the support of Pathology Laboratory Information System (LIS) systems for Pathology disciplines to meet the requirements of Pathology Department
  • To provide basic hardware and client software support and installation
  • To monitor the laboratory IT systems and alert to potential security and stability issues
  • Assist in the management of internal and external systems interfaces for the laboratory IT systems
  • To assist with new IT developments as directed by the laboratory IT development group
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly tasks as required to support all areas of Pathology IT and all laboratory disciplines
  • Log Request for Change (RFC) issues for Change Advisor Board (CAB)
  • Work with users, other team members, suppliers, Trust, external users and other Viapath departments as required to achieve their objectives and resolve calls or tasks assigned
  • Assist with creating new tests or testing configuration change in LIMS and other systems as required
  • Assist in providing support for standalone or VM Servers under the supervision of the Infrastructure management team
  • Creation and tracking of service desk incidents via phone or email

Viapath is a healthcare organisation and smoking is actively discouraged and is prohibited in the majority of our locations. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking area

Data Protection Act-

Employees must not, without prior permission, disclose any information regarding patients or staff. In circumstances where it is known that a member of staff has communicated such information to an unauthorised person, those staff will be liable to dismissal. Moreover, the Data Protection Act (2018) also renders an individual liable to prosecution in the event of unauthorised disclosure of information.
