Apprentice Warehouse and Storage Operative

Description of Vacancy
At KES you will be part of a small friendly team that recognises that its staff are equally as important as its customers.
We need a team player who is willing to learn and is happy to be involved in all aspects of running a busy warehouse. You will be processing goods in and out of the warehouse and will be trained to use a Forklift Truck.
You will be involved with every aspect of a busy warehouse, from confirming the contents of delivery documentation to stacking goods and replenishment.
Processing goods in and out of the warehouse.
Using a Forklift Truck.
Measuring and labelling goods and pallets.
Checking documentation for ‘goods in’ and ‘goods out’.
On-site training in all aspect of warehouse duties including Forklift Truck operation.
To maintain a tidy, working warehouse in order to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
To load, unload and move stock manually by safe operation of forklift truck.
To ensure customer orders are picked accurately and efficiently and to ensure adequate levels of quality merchandise are held in stock at all times.
Ensure the use of correct documentation when booking goods in and out of the branch.
Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained within the warehouse area.
Wages £3.90 per hour
Monday – Friday
9.00am – 5.30pm
1 hour Daily Lunch Break
Basic computer skills.
Good English and maths.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work well on their own as well as within a team.
Ability to work in an organised and structured way with attention to detail.

Functional skills in English and maths.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
