An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join the IT team, based at Memorial House, Coalville.

The 4 year apprenticeship will provide the successful applicant with real work experience whilst studying for a degree-level qualification.

In year 1, you will be a member our customer focused ICT (Information, Communication, Technology) service desk team, acting as the first point of contact for all ICT incident and service requests.

This will include:
  • Assessing and recording all incident & service requests
  • Application & equipment fault diagnostics and resolution
  • Maintaining user access controls
  • Assigning appropriate user access and resources
  • Maintaining application and device security
  • Supporting the wider team to deliver ICT services and solutions

Over the 4 years of your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will be varied and aligned with your apprenticeship programme.

There is room to move into different disciplines within IT (such as cyber security, data analytics, network engineering) depending on the needs of the business.

Starting salary is £18,000 per annum, increasing annually (£9,86 per hour).

  • Good appreciation of the importance of IT security
  • Confident in using a range of technical hardware and devices
  • Practical experience using Microsoft applications
  • Well organised, able to prioritise tasks and work to deadline

The successful apprentice must be flexible, hardworking, reliable and willing to complete any tasks associated with their job role, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Desired qualifications

  • A levels, including maths, Science or IT
  • GCSE A - C in English, maths and ICT (or BTEC equivalent)
  • Relevant experience and/or equivalent qualifications considered


Future prospects

It is expected that upon completion of the Apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress further within the organisation onto a suitable pathway.
