As an apprentice you will work towards the following:
  • Log, update and track technical issues and requests raised by clients. Accurately documenting, diagnosing, investigating and resolving these issues.
  • Work with other TMD and client technical engineers to determine the nature of a problem and assess the appropriate action. This will be achieved by analysis of the problem, questioning the client, recreating the scenario and using remote diagnostic tools to view the client system.
  • Clearly communicate technical issues and subsequent follow-up and resolution, with engineers, developers and management in verbal and written form as appropriate.
  • Be able to systematically and logically summarize issues for management reporting.
  • Test and document software upgrades and bug fixes.
  • Assist with implementation of new software as well as upgrades for clients.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance checks to ensure client sites are running efficiently.
  • Prepare demonstration systems for presales and exhibitions as required.
  • Provide system demonstrations to potential clients at trade shows.
  • Work with TMD's global support teams, in multiple time zones, to maintain consistency across all regions.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of existing support processes and procedures.
  • Establish a good understanding of the underlying Mediaflex database with a view to providing assistance with report development using TMD specific reporting tools.
  • Support other technical, development and project implementation staff as required.
  • Support the sales team in pre-sales work such as demonstration of Mediaflex functional and provide technical responses for sales requirement documents.

  • Stay informed about IT and Broadcast technology, and from time to time evaluate new technology.
  • Have excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Be able to travel to client and potential client sites and trade shows.
  • Understand how to tactfully handle difficult clients.
  • Possess general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Establish and maintain familiarity with in-house systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Have a good understanding of software development life cycle.


Desired qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A - C / 9-4 (or equivalent) and we particularly welcome applications from individuals that have undertaken relevant higher qualifications such as A Levels or a technical college course

Future prospects

Successful applicants will be able to look at a degree apprenticeship to aid progression.
