We are looking to recruit a bright, talented and enthusiastic apprentice to support the Finance Manager at Equals. This includes an excellent study support package and exposure to a wide range of responsibilities in a well-rounded Finance role.

The role will involve:
  • Purchase ledger: processing invoices received and expense claims into accounting software
  • Sales ledger: creating and sending invoices to clients
  • Management accounts: supporting in the production of monthly management pack
  • FP&A: assisting with preparation of annual budget, forecasts, analysis of management accounts
  • Data analysis: assisting in preparation of analyses of the company's key metrics
  • General admin including filing and updating spreadsheets
  • Supporting non-finance staff with project management software
  • Reconciling accounts and checking financial transactions for accuracy

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
  • Sales/purchase ledger experience

Personal qualities

  • Experience gained as an accounts assistant or in a junior finance role at an SME
  • Experience of using Xero and project management software
  • Part-qualified: AAT Professional Diploma or CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting / Completed Level 4 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship and looking to move on to Level 7
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Highly motivated with the desire to be part of a growing company and work in a collaborative environment

Desired qualifications

  • CIMA certificate level OR
  • AAT Level 3/4 OR
  • A Levels in relevant subjects i.e Accounting, business, economics, maths etc. Grades A-C
