Our vacancy for an ApprenticeEngineer is the ideal opportunity to further your academic study whist working in consultancy and gaining practical skills and knowledge. Here you will learn about Land Development, Geotechnical Engineering, Infrastructure Design and Structural Design.
Working closely with both senior and graduate engineers you will be trained to utilise the latest design software to assist with:

Excellent organisation, analytical, communication and presentation skills are essential.
Desired qualifications
Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their Apprentices in terms of employment and eligibility. Applicants for this course will need to meet the standard BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering FT/SW entry qualifications.
Applicants applying without A-levels will have their qualifications assessed for subject compatibility.
All successful applicants must meet the criteria for Apprentices set by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA).
Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative.NTU will liaise with the employer to determine their requirements.
Future prospects
PJS is growing business with engineers of all levels. We shall be looking to expand organically and promote from within to enable career progression.
Things to consider
Office is moving to Long Eaton NG10 (circa September 2019).

- Working drawings (foundations, superstructure, infrastructure etc.)
- Flood risk assessment
- Desktop studies
- Drainage and earthworks strategies
- Detailed S38 highway design
- Detailed S104 drainage design
- External works and private drainage

- 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, including an A-level grade C equivalent in maths; and excluding General Studies
- A-levels - BBB, including maths and excluding General Studies (A-level maths grade C will be accepted providing the overall Tariff points are met); or
- BTEC Extended Diploma - DDM and A-Level maths grade C; or
- BTEC Extended Diploma - DDM, including maths for Technicians, and Further maths for Technicians modules; or
- A successfully completed Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician; and
- GCSEs - English and maths grade C/4
