Our project management teams are responsible for delivering projects and change that offer the best possible service to our internal and external customers.

As an apprentice project manager, you’ll assist our more senior project managers in ensuring the delivery of a range of business and change projects to agreed deadlines and within budget. You will gain a detailed understanding of project management and core practices using a range of appropriate methodology and risk management techniques.

You'll be accountable for:

  • supporting senior and lead project managers
  • developing and managing project plans to ensure outputs will be delivered to agreed deadlines
  • identify project risks and agree mitigating actions prior to delivery
  • managing stakeholder expectations by keeping them up to date with the status of the tasks
  • monitoring and reporting on progress as required
  • identify, analyse, and recommend necessary steps to overcome project issues
  • supporting key project and programme progress meetings - take minutes, notes and actions from project meetings
  • working with team members and colleagues to develop pragmatic solutions
  • preparing project documents as appropriate
  • making a contribution to our ongoing improvement in how we deliver our work
  • working with and having an understanding of established project management methodologies
  • working in multidisciplinary teams
  • working across multiple projects simultaneously and managing conflicting priorities
  • dealing with ambiguity, managing uncertainty and reacting to the unforeseen
  • being approachable and collaborative, and working well as part of a team
  • showing strong problem solving skills – you’ll need to be proactive in identifying things to tackle before they become a problem
  • comply with the internal Financial Ombudsman Change Delivery Framework

Salary: £19,201 per annum
