Your role, duties and tasks will include:

Start Up of New Projects:
  • Develop an understanding of the requirement for pre-contract management and project commercial start-up procedures

  • Develop an understanding of the requirement to procure materials and off-site services in an efficient manner as directed ensuring organisations are capable of carrying out the work in accordance with best practice, legal requirements and the VINCI procurement procedures and policies
  • Assist with subcontract procurement in accordance with the procurement schedule timetable, in accordance with the Vinci procurement process and policy.
  • Assist in the preparation of work package content sheets
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontract invitations to tender
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of the supply chain to deliver continuous improvement in terms of time, cost, quality and learning of all parties

Applications for Payment and Invoicing:
  • Develop an understanding of the need to maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment

Cost Control:
  • Develop an understanding of basic unit costs of resources (labour, plant and materials)
  • Assist in the monitoring and management of subcontract costs
  • Assist in the preparation of material wastage reconciliations
  • Develop an understanding of plant and equipment schedules and their use to ensure efficiency of use

Accounting and Reporting:
  • Develop an understanding of the need to produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts

Change Control:
  • Recognise and record "Change"

Programming and Project Controls:
  • Develop an understanding of programming and sequencing requirements

Main Contract Administration:
  • Develop an understanding of the contractual relationships between the various parties and "stakeholders

Subcontract Administration:
  • Develop an understanding of the need for subcontract notices to be accurate and on time
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontract instructions
  • Adhere to robust subcontract change control procedures
  • Support the process of interim subcontract payments
  • Check daywork sheets and time and material records for accuracy
  • Develop an understanding of methods of measurement and provide quantified schedules of works and / or bills of quantities
  • On-site quantification of unfixed materials

Project Completion:
  • Support the project close out and archiving

Desired qualifications

112 UCAS Tariff points. This is equivalent to:
  • 3 A levels at grade B, B, C
  • BTEC National Diploma DMM (1x Distinction and 2x Merits)
  • Access to HE Qualification
  • All appropriate and equivalent, UK and international, Level 3 (and above) qualifications will be considered

In addition applicants will need to have 4 GCSEs at grades C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including English and maths.

If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 or equivalent English language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
