What you will do in your working day

The post-holder will provide technical and process support in the delivery of Disabled Facility Grants and other grants and will help us improve the living conditions and health of people in the District through the provision of advice and, where appropriate, practical assistance.

Also assisting with site visits to assess suitability of properties for adaptation, repair and improvements and be involved in the preparation of specifications, sketch plans and CAD plans for discussion and tendering

The training you will be getting

On-the-job training and assessment will be provided by a mixture of:
  • Team, accompanied and supervised working
  • Work place shadowing
  • Mentoring
  • Periodic In house Training from internal or external resource
  • Self learning modules and assessments e.g. Health & safety tests

Off-the-job training will be provided by Coventry University

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Subject to satisfactory graduation we may then offer a permanent role as a Grants Surveyor with the Council and further support with progression to professional qualification as a Chartered Surveyor.
