This exciting apprenticeship role within this function will gain first-hand experience of Network routing, switching and design.

As an apprentice working within the Network Team you will work closely with our Qualified engineers. Working on all aspects of IT Networking including:

Routing & Switching:
  • Create a digital ready foundation for network infrastructure

Software Defined Networks:
  • The design of digital ready networks for scale and insight

Network Assurance & Compliance:
  • Network is always performing as designed

On-premise or Cloud Managed Wireless:
  • Enhanced visibility and control

Enterprise Mobility Management:
  • Connect all applications, users, and devices to the network

Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Assist users on any task, on any device from wherever they are

During your apprenticeship you will also work within other technology teams where you will learn at first hand both in our labs and on live systems; Cyber Security, Data Centre, Voice call managers, voice recording, and video conferencing. These secondments will provide you the necessary knowledge of other technologies which will support you learning as a Network Engineer Apprentice.

Desired qualifications

  • Five GCSE's A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent)including math and English plus a technology subject
  • 2 A levels in STEM subjects or an IT apprenticeship at level 3


Future prospects

Cisco Certified up to CCIE.
