Due to the business growth a market leading manufacturer is looking for a Business Intelligence & EDI Intern for 12 months FTC to support the business systems in the delivery of the best ERP business intelligence, analysis of business performance and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting interface.
Key tasks:
* Supports the EDI process in conjunction with end users, 3rd party vendors and Epicor ERP.
* Publishes user-friendly and accurate BI reports and KPI's in a variety of formats, working to set IT reporting standards.
* Provides timely support to the EIMEA and global Finance teams to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
* Produces routine and ad-hoc financial and data reports ensuring consistency, availability and integrity in data for reporting from ERP database and associated data mining from available systems.
* Monitors the performance and administration to ensure BI operates at an optimal level and liaises with the BSM and IT team to ensure patches, new releases and other software and hardware upgrades are applied in a timely fashion, and performance and capacity requirements are planned.
* Maintains an EIMEA sales and financial budgeting and forecasting applications and related processes.
* Provides IT Support to users
* Ensures BS requests are logged, prioritised, reviewed, approved, escalated where required, and resolved or implemented directly or through vendors to a high standard in a timely fashion and in line with SOX and other control requirements.
* Audits and analyses data quality and integrity and issues corrective guidance to data owners and recommends new controls and processes to improve quality where appropriate.
* Collaborates with the BSM to assist with the implementation of the strategic BS programmes and initiatives.
* Maintains current skillset and investigates new and emerging system trends and technologies for possible application to EIMEA's present and future needs.
* Supports end user and internal IT giving guidance on business systems and reporting, budgeting and forecasting tools and processes.
* Maintains an adequate level of BS documentation relating to changes, processes, procedures, policies and more.
Skills and experience:
* Bachelor's degree in IT or relevant field ideal but not essential
* Current technical certification(s), in particular Microsoft SQL and BI, ideal but not essential
* Managing and supporting databases, preferably Microsoft SQL.
* Translating technical concepts and information to usable guidance for non-technical users.
* Experience of programming SQL, VB.
* Managing and developing relational databases, financial and other reporting and business intelligence, preferably Microsoft SQL and SSRS.
* Experience of BI and reporting under SOX and GAAP standards desirable.
