What you will do in your working day

Co-ordinate and oversee a range of innovative youth participation projects within the Life Chances Programme. Lead planning of Big Youth Conversation 2020, with support of key service areas. Coordinate the Life Chances Youth Task Force to deliver objectives of the role including collating hours and checking / submitting timesheets for the task force member.Project administration and management of the youth participation projects.Communicate effectively with internal and/or external stakeholders.

The training you will be getting

Project communication plan, effectiveness in managing different stakeholders. Factors which can affect communications such as cultural and physical barriers including.Consolidated planning - Purpose and formats for consolidated plans to support management, fundamental components of scope, schedule, resources, budgets, risks and quality requirements.Budgeting and cost control - estimating, overheads; direct costs, indirect costs, fixed costs, variable costs within budget.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Achieve an IPMA Level D qualification or APM Project Management Qualification.Upon commencement, apprentices may become student members of the Association for Project Management (APM) as the first step of professional membership. Apprentices will be eligible for progression to associate membership upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Full membership can be attained through further experience and professional development.

Things to consider

Involves supporting the Life Chances Project Team, Youth Participation Lead within the Council, young people from across the community from a wide variety of backgrounds, internal customers, stakeholders and third parties to ensure the programme is delivered efficiently. Liaise with senior members of staff solving problems and processes.
