Main Responsibilities:
  • Conducting technical client workshops including the demonstration of Dynamics NAV with a view to gathering the customer's business requirements
  • Carrying out reviews from analysis phase workshops and supporting the fit-gap analysis process
  • Analysis of client requirements and translating these to functional design documents and solution design considering such areas as upgradeability, performance, reliability and impact analysis
  • Providing service estimates for the above
  • Work with the solution architect to ensure that the design of the overall solution is technically fit for purpose and input into the solution blueprint and creation of the technical architecture document
  • Research latest technologies and be up to speed with the technical & functional changes in each new release of NAV and the impact this has on current implementations and methodologies.
  • Contribute to scope and risk management, working with the project managers and consultants to ensure the project delivers to time, cost and quality
  • Investigate technical features and advances in NAV and related technology. Deliver working real-world examples of usage, documentation describing how and when to use these features and provide training and support to the development team on these features to assist wider adoption
  • Work with other K3 technical practices: BI, .NET, eCommerce to ensure that there are common approaches e.g. NAV POS for Retail, BI, interfacing with eCommerce solutions
  • Mentoring and educating other team members to adopt best practice standards and methodologies in relation to developing for NAV
  • Pre-sales assistance
  • Implementation planning and the delivery of value-added work, to scope and budget
  • Business and systems analysis and documentation
  • Conducting client work shops
  • Demonstrating MS Dynamics NAV / D365 Business Central
  • Product design and gap analysis to standard product functionality
  • Production of design, system, user and procedural documentation
  • Application configuration and set up
  • Provide system training - train the trainer and end user training
  • Development and delivery of testing strategies
  • Design and execution of data migration strategies
  • Go live support
  • Transfer over to K3 Support Team
  • Leading an implementation from a functional perspective working closely with the technical lead and the project manager

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • A detailed technical understanding of the latest Dynamics NAV
  • An understanding of Dynamics NAV core functional areas
  • Understanding of deployment to on premise vs Azure and managed service environments
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server (all versions)
  • Understanding and use of Sure Step or other implementation methodology.
  • Excellent IT skills including Office and Dynamics 365
  • Familiarity and experience with Business Intelligence tools including SSAS, SSIS
  • Good understanding of multiple development languages
  • Understanding of supporting software such as Microsoft Project and Power BI

You must be able to show good analytical methods and have the ability to understand requirements and convert these into relevant solutions.

Desired qualifications

  • At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above including maths, English and either IT or science
  • Ideally, you will have either a minimum of two A levels (or equivalent) a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification or Level 3 BTEC
