Ricardo Performance Products is currently looking to train and develop a Product Design and Development Apprentice to join their Motorsport Design Engineering Team in Leamington Spa.

Things to consider
During the apprenticeship, alongside college, they will gain practical experience using the following machines to support the HNC & HND Qualification:
- 3&4-Axis CNC Turning and Milling Machines
- Multi Axis Machines
- Gear Hobbing, Shaping & Grinding
- Heat Treatment
- Inspection
During the HND qualification the successful candidate will
- Manufacture components to cost, quality, and on time
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Inspect components
- Obtain a good understanding of material properties
The final year of academic training will also incorporate:
- CAD modelling and drawing of Transmission components
- Creating Design Solutions
- Managing Engineering Change
- Operational Support
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Anyexperience of engineering or manual methods of machining will be beneficial but not essential
- Ability and willingness to study up to Degree level or equivalent
- Knowledge of Excel/MS Word/IT
- An excellent communicator with good attention to detail
- Able to demonstrate Engineering skills and judgement
- Well organised, with good practical skills
Personal qualities
- Enjoys working in a variety of sectors/applications
- Highly motivated, and enthusiastic
- A good team player, with the ability to carry out tasks on their own
- Able to complete workto a high standard
- Able to solve problems with a methodical approach to fault finding
Desired qualifications
- 5 x GCSE's at grade9 - 4 (A*-C) in English, maths and a science, technology or engineering based subject (or equivalent qualifications)
- 2 x A Levelsat C or above in both Mathematical based subject and a science, technology or engineering based subject; or Engineering BTEC Level 3; or equivalent qualifications
Note that candidates will need to pass a college maths assessment prior to starting.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship and training, the candidates may have the opportunity for a full-time position within the company.
