A permanent role as sourcing specialist, buyer or materials planner on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Things to consider
- Execute plan for assigned commodities, working closely with technology, supply chain and Project management teams to identify and enable most effective suppliers to meet lead time and margin expectations and ensure the fulfilment of customer orders
- Support cost out deflation targets via supplier negotiations, alternate supplier development and/or shifting to Low Cost Region suppliers; develop strategic relationships with global suppliers and support cash goals
- Support Material requirement and demand planning for a range of products and components both internally manufactured and externally sourced, raising and managing production and purchase orders and executing MRP action messages
- Support Making strategic planning adjustments to balance demand vs supply and to facilitate a total replenishment lead time in line with market expectations
- Ensure supplier performance stability to meet delivery, quality and inventory expectations, via lead time reductions and capacity improvements
- Managing inventory utilising vendor managed inventory (VMI), consignment, stocking programs and Min Order Quantity strategies with suppliers to meet inventory and fulfilment goals
- Actively support route cause analysis for materials issues and support improvement opportunities within the business
