The key duties of the post are as follows:
  • Processing and paying invoices
  • Recording receipts and payments
  • Preparing and checking ledger balances and other monthly annual accounts
  • Completing and submitting tax returns
  • Monitoring company expenses
  • Drafting financial reports
  • Planning and budget control
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions
  • Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Plus other duties consistent with the grade as directed

Desired qualifications

  • Must have Level 3 AAT qualification
  • 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word and Excel

Things to consider

  • January is always a busy month for the practice. Increased workload with some time pressure to complete - but we have a good team who help each other out when needed
  • Dealing with general public means that sometimes there will be a difficult client - in those cases they are referred directly to the partner
