Department and specifically within a first-class Tax team comprising of Tax experts whose specialisms include Corporation Tax, M&A tax, VAT and Employment Tax. The Tax Apprentice would gain practicalexperience from day one whilst completing a Professional Accounting and Taxation Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship. We ask you to give your dedication to the apprenticeship and have the desire to learn and develop. Key responsibilities will include:
Start with an 18-month Professional Accounting and Taxation Technician Level 4 apprenticeship, consisting of blended training and work-based assessments covering: professional finance principles and standards, business awareness, planning and prioritisation, communications and collaboration and specialist tax or accounting skills

Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax computations and returns
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax disclosures for the statutory accounts
  • Assisting with tax payment calculations
  • Assisting with VAT return preparation and reconciliations
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding day to day compliance matters
  • Supporting other tax team members with ad hoc project and M&A work
  • 20% of your contracted working hours will be spent on the learning and developing the required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours of the apprenticeship. This development time will include learning new relevant tasks in your role, embedding your knowledge in your role, practical workplace training, spending development time with your Line Manager or mentor, attending online or face-to-face courses and time spent writing assignments/assessments or directed self-study hours

  • Computer literate, particularly with Excel, but also competent with word and power point

Desired qualifications

Minimum Grade 5 in GCSE (or equivalent)maths and English, and or 3 A Levels (or equivalent)minimum Grades C and above, preferably a STEM subject but other A Levels will be considered.

Future prospects

96% of Arch Apprentices move straight into the destination of their choice when they finish their apprenticeship with many seeing their salary go up immediately post-apprenticeship!
