Back Office Duties:
  • Setup of new equipment in preparation for customer delivery
  • Monitor customer backups
  • Maintain Customers monitoring systems such as Antivirus and Windows Updates
  • Maintain customer hardware audits
  • Liaise with Hardware suppliers for hardware fault diagnosis/repair
  • Liaise with Internet Service Providers for ADSL based issues
  • Dispatching of goods via delivery company where applicable
  • Server Checks - Remote dial in and check for updates / general health
  • Ensure working environment is clean and tidy (Desk, Workshop)
  • Ensure that you keep abreast of new technologies and training schedule is maintained
  • Ensure that your day's activities are tracked using the Technical Support System We will track your workflow by analysing the system Given that your working time is 8 hours we would expect your time at work to be documented to reflect this
  • Technical Support System updating. It is expected that each engineer will have updated the Technical Support System by 8 am the following day (Including weekends) This is so that other engineers can support the work you have carried out if you are unavailable at other clients, sick or on annual leave Complete problem ownership. Ensure your jobs are in hand and always up to date.

Helpdesk Support:
  • 1st Line telephone support to selected customers
  • Provide Remote Support to selected customers
  • Provide supervised Onsite Support (Occasionally to selected customers)
  • The occasional carrying of equipment is necessary

  • Installing peripherals such as printers / scanners, webcams etc.

2 Office 2000 or 2003 or 2007 or 2010 or 2013 or 2016
  • Use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
  • Internet Explorer, Chrome and or other browsers
  • Optimizing and protecting a PC
  • Basic home networking of routers and Wireless devices

Personal qualities

  • Timekeeping will be impeccable
  • Sickness will be infrequent
  • Presentable at all times
  • Being competent in dealing with customers over the telephone, face to face is a very important part of this role
  • If the client has no faith in your abilities to communicate you will not be an effective resource for them
  • Examination Tests We will expect any exams or tests to be passed with flying colours
  • Appearance You are expected to be clean, tidy and presentable at all times in line with an office/customer facing environment

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Grades in maths, English and a science C and above
