Norman Bromley Partnership are a well-established Building Services Consultancy based in Tonbridge, Kent. We are looking for a well-qualified sixth form leaver who is keen to pursue a career in Building Services Engineering to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking for on the job training rather than continuing full-time education.

Working initially as a Apprentice Electrical or Mechanical Consulting Engineer you will be exposed to various aspects of engineering and undertake technical training. You will learn how to use industry design software and technical 3D drawing packages including AutoCAD and Revit.

You will have the opportunity to undertake day-release University education to obtain industry recognised engineering qualifications up to and including an MSc.
  • Production of coordinated 3D and 2D mechanical and electrical design drawings using software tools including Revit and AutoCAD
  • Basic building calculations including air distribution, heat gain, heat loss and cooling as well as power distribution and lighting calculations
  • Production of 3D computational thermal models to simulate heating loads, cooling loads, and provide overheating analysis
  • Contribution to research and reporting of building servicing options and strategies
  • Production of technical reports for internal and external project teams
  • Meeting with manufactures to discuss and understand various advancing and emerging building technologies

Desired qualifications

  • A - Level EEE or
  • BTEC National Diploma MPP or
  • Access to HE qualifications with 45 Passes supported by substantial relevant work experience or
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points supported by substantial relevant work experience
  • Level 3 qualifications must include maths or physics
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs 7-4/A-C including maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
  • We welcome qualifications from around the world. English language qualifications for international students: IELTS score of 6.0 or Cambridge Proficiency or Advanced Grade C


Future prospects
