What you will do in your working day
Based at either the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. Medical engineering is a really exciting and varied role where you'll use your expertise in electronic or mechanical engineering to undertake these activities to maintain the equipment required for the safe care and treatment of patient. Medical Engineers are responsible for checking our medical equipment to make sure it's working properly and is safe to use. Please see the job description for more details.
The training you will be getting
BSc Honours Degree through attending the University in Bristol in week long blocks through out the 3 years - expenses paid.
Support and training on-site by proficient Medical Engineers and a Medical Engineering training officer.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Once qualified there will be the opportunity to secure a permanent contract with the Trust.

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent Math, English, Science (Grade A* - C (9 - 4)) Essential
A Level or equivalent Chemistry or Biology + 1 other science (Grade A - C) Essential
BTEC or equivalent Relevant subject instead of A levels (Grade Distinction) Essential
